Dr. Mark McBride, M.D.
About Me
Dr. McBride was born in Salem, Virginia and received his premedical education from Radford University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. After medical school, Dr. McBride served his pediatric residency at the University of Louisville/Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. McBride is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As an active member of the medical community, he has served as Chief of Pediatrics at Carilion and has served on a number of medical boards at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He has been a past recipient of the Best Local Doctor award given by the Roanoker Magazine. Dr. McBride was a former patient of Dr. Andrew Shapiro and Dr. William Gordge at Physicians To Children before returning to join the practice in 1994.
Dr. McBride and his wife, Kimberly have one son. Their hobbies together include gardening, landscaping, coastal travels and spending as much family time together as possible. Dr. McBride and Kimberly co-authored a children’s book together entitled, "The Chickens and the Ice Cream".
